Chain Service Schools
A ONE-DAY SEMINAR ON THE CARE,
USE AND INSPECTION OF CHAIN SLINGS
The Columbus McKinnon Chain School has been developed to provide personnel from a wide variety of industries with instruction and practice in the care, use and inspection of welded link CM Herc-Alloy 800® alloy steel chain as well as hooks, plate clamps, below the hook lifting devices and attachments.

CONTENT:
The one-day seminar covers the recommended procedures for setting up an effective in-house chain maintenance and inspection program. The elements of such a program are given to each employee in a CM chain sling safety kit.

In addition, you'll view a factory tour video-tape which covers portions or our chain making facility, paying special attention to the quality control aspects of CM chain manufacture. Testing procedures for chain tensile and impact strength as well as the effects of sling branch angles on chain tension are demonstrated.

The CM Chain School not only provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to learn more about chain use and maintenance, it also affords attendees the chance to meet and talk with their counterparts in other companies who share common problems and experience.

A certificate of completion is awarded at the conclusion of the seminar.

SCHEDULING:
The CM Chain School takes place at the CM Corporate Learning Center in Amherst, New York. Attendance is by invitation only, arranged through a CM territory manager. To provide maximum individual attention, each group is limited in size. Therefore, if at all possible, commitments to attend should be kept to avoid a lengthy rescheduling delay.

EXPENSE:
There is no charge for the school and training materials. Individuals are responsible for lodging and evening meals. Lunches will be provided by CM. Transportation between hotel and the CM Learning Center is provided. All other expenses, including air and land travel, are the responsibility of the attendee.

TRAVEL:
Those planning to travel by air should fly into the Buffalo International Airport. Amherst is easily accessible by car, just twenty minutes from either downtown Buffalo or the airport.
